Degree (M.T.S.) |
The Master of Theological Studies Degree may be completed through either
the External Studies program or at the Millersville Distance Learning
Center, located at Maryland Church on the Rock, 649 Old Mill Road, Millersville,
MD 21108.
Prerequisite: Bachelor's Degree
The total number of credits required for completion of the Master
of Theological Studies Degree is thirty-eight (38). Thirty-two (32)
of those credits come from eight (8) core courses (required), each
of which is worth four (4) credit hours. The final six (6) credits
come from the Master's Thesis, which must be graded and completed not
less than one month prior to a student's expected date of graduation.

Challenge Program

I. A person may challenge the Master
of Divinity Degree providing He/She:
|
1. Can verify 15 years of ordained ministry experience.
|
2. Can verify 15 years of Licensed
Counseling or Chaplaincy experience.
|
3. Has an earned a Bachelor's Degree.
|
4. Is certified by the College Board of Certifiers
after an oral examination.
|
5. Has already earned an excess of 80 credits either
in Theology or Counseling.
|
6. Pays for all 80 Master of Divinity credits.
|
7. Participates in the Commencement Services.
|
8. Has any combination of #1 and #2 and can fulfill
Articles 3-7.
|
| II. The candidate may match other completed courses in the Master
of Divinity Curriculum. |
| III. All the candidates are required to sign the Student Code
of Conduct; the College Doctrinal Statement and participate in
the College Commencement. |
